Patio umbrellas installed to community area such as a homeowner association and/or condos have special challenges. These can be harsh environments for patio umbrellas since the owner of the umbrella (the HOA) isn’t the user.

A guest will arrive at the community area – usually poolside – crank open the umbrella – and leave, often not realizing the need to crank the umbrella down.

We recommend away from opting for an umbrella that can tilt. A tilted umbrella dramatically adds to the wind load on the umbrella’s canopy. This can result in damage to the umbrella and/or injury.
